Storelectric was one of many industry voices to contribute to the Great British Energy Bill review during its Committee stage this month. We emphasised the importance of a balanced approach to clean technology investment. Rather than favouring a single solution, we advocate deploying a broad range of technologies, adopting a nuanced strategy to address decarbonisation across various sectors.

Scrutiny of the bill will feature insights from industry leaders within GBE, voices from the Trades Union Congress (The TUC), and other key organisations such as Nesta, Energy UK and The Carbon Capture and Storage Association.

Their discussions will cover how the Bill should drive investment in low-carbon technologies and promote the growth of renewable energy sources. If passed, the bill will establish a new publicly owned company, Great British Energy, focused on accelerating clean energy deployment.

The establishment of Great British Energy (GBE), Storelectric believes, will be a step forward in driving Britain’s green tech development, bolstering the energy security our low-carbon energy resources have already achieved—reflected in today’s announcement of the lowest winter blackout risk in years.
